Get a Yacht Skipper educations and look forward to completing a fantastic cruise to Croatia with two beautiful Elan 50 feet boats, where Yacht Skipper 1&3(Y1 & Y3) are taught as well as sailing technique, sea safety and hard weather sailing. The course concludes with certification as a Yacht Skipper of the first or third degree and provides a certificate of seaworthiness and sailing time to a Yacht Skipper of the first degree.

The trip starts in Kastrup with non-stop SAS flights to Split in Croatia, we have two magnificent Elan 50 feet boats, both with room for 12 students and where the teaching takes place optionally over one or two weeks.

The first week YachtSkipper of the third degree is taught, the second week Yachtskipper of the first degree. The teaching is carried out by four seasoned instructors on the two boats. In addition to teaching Yacht Skipper, port maneuvers, sailing trim, safety and hard weather sailing are taught.

The trip is planned so we get around and visit many of the beautiful small islands in the Adriatic and then of course we visit the amazing city of Dubrovnik which is a historical treasure in Europe:

The teaching is organized so that we review the syllabus on which a whole winter is usually spent! Two-hour sessions are held twice a day. After returning home, on-line training is carried out so that everyone is coached for the exam. Furthermore, all teaching sessions are streamed and put-on Microsoft Teams so you can refresh the teaching.

The exam is conducted together with the Danish Yacht Union and it also takes place online - so you can be anywhere if you are connected to the Internet.

We have two Elan 50 feet boats for the trip; Lena & Virginia built in 2017 and 2016, respectively, can accommodate 12 people and contains 4 double berths, four single berths and 2 toilets. The boat is 15.2 meters long, 4.68 meters wide and sticks 2.23 meters, it has 100 HP with 295 liters of Diesel, 605 liters of water, rolling mainsail and genoa plus gennakers used in teaching.

The boat is in the marina ACI Marina Split, very close to Split airport where we land.

The boat has a fully equipped kitchen that includes Microwave, Freezer, Oven, Stove and Sink. Outdoor GPS plotter, Wi-Fi, autopilot and bow thruster. We will be picked up at Split airport and take over to the boat, at 17:00 and the boat is delivered one week after at 9:00. Bed linen and towels plus final cleaning are included in the price, so what you need to bring is a life jacket, sailing clothes, sailing shoes and boots and swimwear.

Teaching in Y3 & Y1 takes place on board, first week Y3 and second week Y1. We review the entire syllabus for Y3 & Y1 intensively in accordance with the syllabus on Microsoft Teams. If you are interested, send an email to hans@torsleff.dk, and you will receive an invitation to the place in the cloud, where the entire program is on Teams. The teaching corresponds to 10 lessons of 2 x 2 hours per. day. In addition, we work with a sailing planner in teams of typically two people. A sailing plan must be prepared for a longer sea voyage, for example in the Mediterranean for Y3 and for an ocean-going sailing for Y1, for a concrete boat with a length greater than 15 meters and less than 25 meters, here the students can choose one of the two boats we sail with. The sailing schedule is part of the preparation for the exam in Y3 and Y1 and is brought to the exam. We bring paper and electronic charts of the Mediterranean around Split which are used in the teaching.

In connection with the sailing, we train planning and implementation of harbor maneuvers, sailing trim, sailing with gennakers, preparation for severe weather sailing and finally handling emergencies. The boat can accommodate 10 students in four double berths and two single cabins. The price for the all-inclusive course is DKK 13,500 for one week and DKK 24,500 for two weeks. The price includes flight with SAS, direct T / R to Split, boat rental, port fees and provisions for the eight days, restaurant visits are not included. We dock in various ports where there is the opportunity to explore Croatia and the surrounding islands and then we visit the amazing city of Dubrovnik. We also try to sway and plan and carry out a night cruise.

Everyone who participates in the course is set for the Y3 and / or Y1 exam, which is completed after returning home online via Microsoft Teams. Before the student is admitted to the exam, courses are conducted in fire and rescue fleets, first aid, the use of Radar and Astronomical navigation. The teaching is agreed later. The special courses are settled separately, and a certificate is issued to the individual participant.

We are four Y1 certified instructors on the trip. Prior to the trip, everyone must have acquired books for the course, the book list can be found on the mentioned course site on Teams. We offer book packages that cover the syllabus at a reduced price.

The Sailing School Sail2Learn is responsible for the technical part of the course. The individual participant must have a leisure and accident insurance and all participants at their own risk, but the boat is of course hull and liability insured.
