Invitation to the Viking Treff in Norway 13 July - 17 July 2022

Vikingtreffet is a meeting once in 3 years between the royal sailing societies in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. Royal Norwegian Yacht Club is the organiser of the Vikingtreffet 2022 in Norway. It is planned to hold the Vikingtreffet in two locations in Norway, Halden and Hankø.

12 July 2022
Arrival of all boats at Halden inner harbour. Power and water outlets on the piers. Showers and toilets. Washroom with washing machine, dryer and ironing board. Welcome with meals and drink at a nearby restaurant in the harbour

The commander of Fredriksten tells about what happened at the fortress when Charles XII in 1718 made a new attempt to conquer Norway. Karl XII brought an army of a total of 40,000 men, but during the siege of Fredriksten Fortress in Halden he was shot on 11 December 1718. At 18:00 there will be an Allsang on the border and the evening ends with a dinner in the King's Hall at Fredriksten Fortress.

Spectacular Brekke lock is on the program this day. Brekke Lock is the highest lock facility in Northern Europe and we started with joint transport to Tistedalen and onwards by the boat Turisten, which will which will transport us through the Floodgates.
15. july 2022
Departure from Halden at 12:00. We sail separately through Whales and Fredrikstad archipelago. When we arrive Slevikkilen it will be eskadreseiling to Hankø Yachtclub on the scenic island of Hankø, where the boats will be docked. There will be a welcome drink at the yacht club, where later in the evening we will head over to Hankø Seilkro for a nice sailing dinner. Kroa is located on the other side of the Husebuktastrait, about 10 minutes walk.

Killingregatta. Each country gets its own boat and "Nordic regatta in Killing" is organised for the participants. Dinner with prize distribution and entertainment at Hankø Yacht Club.
